Someone just told me that Dangote is dead but I've been watchin the news and have not heard anything like that. I discharged it as a rumour but after checking online, I'm not sure what to believe again. I checked Aliko Dangote's twitter page and noticed that the last post there said that he is hale and hearty. Is a twitter post a guarantee that a person is still alive. I'm confused?

We all know how it happens in Nigeria. When big men die, it is normally kept a secret for as long as they can before the family decides to make it official. When the Oba of Benin died, they took almost a year to announce it

My friend. As long as there has not been any official statement from the family or government, you should not assume that a person is dead. It is evil to say that someone is dead when there is no evidence to show it.

When you Google for "Is Dangote dead", you'd get a tonne of results saying taht it is false but I've not seen any public video of Dangote speaking since October 2016 to show that he is indeed alive. The Nigerian media like telling us lies even when the truth is obvious. The best way Dangote can disprove this rumour is to appear in a public event captured by TV reporters in October 2016. I hope he is not dead because I'm still waiting for Dangote rice.

I think it is a rumour. A german website was ne of those who reported it http://dw-tv3.com/breaking-africas-richest-man-aliko-dangote-dies-in-germany/. If you check the report, it has not date stamp showing that it's a fake news website. If Dangote really died in Europe, a lot of news agencies would have reported it by now and that includes BBC. You can't hide the death of an important person in Europe if he actually died in a hospital. Eken, don't worry, your Dangote rice is still coming and by God's grace, Dangote refineries will also come online.

If someone tells you he is dead and no credible website has reported it, then it's a rumour and most likely false.

The said the same thing about IBB and Buhari. Even Shagari has not died yet just to show you that rich men in Nigeria hardly die early. Let's just wait for that Dangote rice and if it doesn't come, we will then know if he is alive or not.

God forbid!. May Dangote live longer than those who wish him early death. As far as I know, he is still alive and you can check his twitter page at https://twitter.com/alikodangote. He is really a young man who fears God and wishes the best for our society. He is currently about 59 years old in 2016.
