Yoruba is the most dominant ethnic group in Lagos but due to the peculiar nature of the city as a former capital, there are also other major ethnic groups which hold up to 50% of the population such as the Igbo, Hausa, Ijaw, Edo, Efik and others.

Lagos is for everybody unlike other states. It is now a mixed city that no tribe can do without the other for it to remain its status as a mega city. I think Yoruba need the Igbo as much as Igbo need the Yoruba and the same goes for Hausa. Lagos is the best example of what Nigeria needs to be. If Lagos has survived so far despite its diversity, then Nigeria too can survive despite Boko Haram and the other enemies of democracy.
