In Nigerian culture, men tend to have sexual rights to their wives as long as they are traditionally married and even while they wait for Church or religious marriage. Some women might prefer waiting for the church marriage before having sex with their husband. What if the man can't wait any longer and forces to have sex with the woman he is already married to. Is it considered rape? Can the man go to jail for it?

Also, if they are already legally married and the marriage certificate has been issued, is it also considered rape if a man forces sex on his wife? Is such a woman likely to win a court case against the husband?

I think yes. Sex has to be a mutual thing but if it is forced on someone, it is rape. Even women at times rape men. However, whether it is legal or not depends on what the society feels about marital rape. Marital rape may be legal in some countries but non-marital rape is the one where most countries agree most on as being illegal.
