What are the experiences and stories you had or heard about the war.

Ndigbo were ingenious. They fought gallantly but were killed in hundreds of thousands the the mostly Yoruba and Hausa/Fulani army. The British were also helping the Nigerian army with plans and ammunition. The Igbos developed their own bombs(Ogbunigwe), guns and even armored cars. A tipper was even converted to an armored car and there are many stories like that.

A lot of Easterners were killed. However, a majority were killed by starvation after the Nigerian govt blocked food aid to Biafra.

It was gruesome for both sides. I heard some Igbo soldiers were using bones of dead Hausa soldiers as walking stick because they were very long. I also heard that most of those soldiers survived because they fed on Hausa flesh. It was barbaric experience and nobody should pray for something like that again.
