Things are getting hard in Nigeria and in a family, it's normally the duty of the wife to cook for the family while the husband provides the feeding money except in exceptional cases. How much is an ideal amount of money to give to my wife on a monthly basis.

It depends on the cost of food in your area and where you live. However, I don't think the feeding allowance should cost more than how much one would spend taking his family to a restaurant for that same period. If the cost of a plate of food at the restaurant is N100 per meal and your wife has to feed 4 people per meal for 3 times a day and for 30 days, then you should not give her more than N36,000 per month as feeding allowance unless you have excess money to spend. Sure, you can't give your wife more than what you make per month. If your salary is N15,000 per month, then you can't give everything to your wife unless you want to become an armed robber.
