Why is it that since Nigeria became an independent nation, the issue of electricity supply has always been a problem. Where public electrical installations are available, it is not sufficient to go round and in many others places, there is a nabsence of electricity?

Corruption is what I feel is the answer. If past Nigerian govt officials were not corrupt, they would have done the needful in allowing private power companies to provide sufficient power for the nation. It is not something too hard to have 24 hrs electricity. When companies ar allowed to offer the service for profit, I don't see any reason why there would not be 24 hrs electricity supply. They need to have the political will to do it.

Because it is not totally privatized. If they privatize power sector like Obasanjo did for GSM, they would start working all the time.
